*Leaked* Sony God of War 2 Billboard Preview - Source: GameStop IndiaLast month Sony used a decapitated goat as the centerpiece of a party it threw in Greece to promote the launch of Playstation 2 title “God of War II”.

Also present at the party was theatrical performers, such as topless women feeding grapes to partygoers. All of this was supposed to be in keeping with the video game’s Greek Mythology theme.

According to media reports in Europe, the animal rights groups were enraged over the dead goats exploitation. As for the topless human females.. they had no issues.

Accusations of butchering a goat to prop up a video game launch party couldn’t have come at a worse time for the company. Sure, their PS3 launch wasn’t that hot, they’ve had virtually zero decent titles available since release, and they’re getting hit with DRM complaints left and right. “The goat was returned to the butcher,” Sony said. “On this occasion we recognize that we fell short of our normal high standards of conduct.”

They also deemed it necessary to issue a recall of over 80,000 copies of the Official Sony Playstation Magazine which featured the event in its full color glossy print glory.

I must admit, as deplorable as Sony’s conduct has been, the DR staff is a bit disapointed we weren’t invited to the party in Greece, especially given the lack of information on any theatrical performances of the sex-mini game(s)? present in GoW II. DR Signing off…
