Billed as the “3dfx of physics calculation”, Ageia’s PhysX Accelerator add-on card is now available for preorder on Overclockers UK for a hefty sum of $320. Since there are no games supporting this technology as of yet, it’d be pretty risky to preorder it now. I’d wait until a number of games that you may end up playing, before purchasing. However, if you have to stay on the cutting edge, and are desperate to blow your tax return, this may peak your interest. Besides, it may be worth supporting this technology, as it does look to enhance games just like 3D graphics did back in the days.
