S2 Games recently announced that those who preorder Savage 2 — the sequel to the FPS/RTS hybrid released in 2003 — will be granted access to the beta, which will be released prior to the official gold release. The game will not be officially sold in stores and will instead be an online exclusive.
According to the preorder site:
By pre ordering your game you will have guaranteed access to our beta set to start in June of 2006.* This will allow you to help shape the final game with input on imbalances, game play issues, and technical issues. Savage 2 is only available for purchase on the Internet and is delivered only via download.
