Supposedly these are benchmarks for Oblivion on both ATI and NVIDIA cards, and they were leaked on the internet. The benchmarks are done at 1600x1200x32 with 4x FSAA and 16 anisotropic filtering enabled, and HDR disabled. ATI’s Radeon X1900 XTX unsurprisingly is at the top while NVIDIA’s GeForce 6800GT fares the lowest of today’s modern graphics card. It’s impressive that the Radeon X1900 XTX does so well considering the parameters.
Why such a high resolution and with AA/AF enabled? To eliminate any bottlenecks and accurately test graphics performance. Being that I have a GeForce 6800GT, I’m not expecting to be able to play Oblivion with AA/AF enabled, but I do hope to play it at my native resolution of 1680×1050 (widescreen is where it’s at.)
Note: These benchmarks are not confirmed, so they could very well be fake.
